Spider Solitaire 2 Suits

Master Spider Solitaire 2 Suits and sharpen your card skills. Build smart sequences and clear both suits with careful moves.

What Is Spider Solitaire (2 Suits)?

The objective is to build complete same-suit sequences from King down to Ace. Whenever you finish a full 13-card run, those cards are removed from the tableau. Clear all eight sequences, including four Heart sequences and four Spade sequences, to complete the game. The key challenge comes from how cards can be placed versus how they can be moved. This creates opportunities to build temporary combinations while also forcing you to think ahead before mixing suits.

Game Overview

Spider Solitaire (2 Suits) offers a satisfying middle ground between the easy one-suit version and the demanding four-suit challenge. The game uses only Hearts and Spades, making it easier to plan your moves while still requiring careful strategy.

How Card Stacking Works

Cards can be placed on another card that is exactly one rank higher, even when the suits do not match. For example, a 7♠ can be placed beneath an 8♥. However, mixed-suit groups cannot be moved together. A same-suit sequence can travel as one stack, while a mixed group must be separated and moved one card at a time. Keeping this difference in mind is essential when deciding where to build each column.

Stock Deals And Empty Columns

  • Clicking the stock deals ten new face-up cards, with one card added to each tableau column. This gives you more cards to work with but can also create new obstacles if your columns are already crowded.
  • Empty columns are especially useful for reorganizing the tableau. In most versions, you also cannot deal from the stock while a column is empty, so consider when to create and when to fill these spaces.

How To Play

Use left-click or drag and drop to move individual cards or valid same-suit sequences. When the board becomes difficult to read, the Hint button can highlight possible moves. The Undo button lets you reverse your latest action when a move creates an unwanted position.

Tips For Better Moves

Build same-suit sequences whenever possible

A clean Heart or Spade run remains fully movable, giving you more freedom to reorganize the tableau and uncover hidden cards.

Make good use of empty columns

An empty space can temporarily hold a card while you break apart a mixed-suit arrangement or create room for a longer sequence.

Reveal face-down cards early

Uncovering hidden cards expands your available moves and reduces the chance of getting trapped later in the game. Before making a move, consider whether it will open another card or simply fill valuable space.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I move my descending card stack to another column?

You can only move a group of cards together if every card in that sequence belongs to the same suit. If your descending stack contains a mixture of Hearts and Spades, the game treats it as locked, and you can only move the bottom-most card individually.

Why won't the game let me deal cards from the stock pile?

You cannot deal new cards from the stock pile if you have an empty column on the table. You must place at least one card into every empty space before tapping the stock deck.

Is every game of Spider Solitaire 2 Suits winnable?

Not every deal is winnable, but over 80% of 2-Suit games can be solved with careful planning, smart use of empty columns, and strategic Undo usage!
