Beetle Solitaire
Beetle Solitaire reveals every card from the start, but mixed stacks keep the challenge alive. Build same-suit runs and clear the board.
Beetle Solitaire: 100% Open Tableau, Zero Hidden Cards
Forget standard solitaire games where key cards are hidden face-down under columns. Beetle Solitaire completely changes the dynamic by laying all starting tableau cards completely face-up from your very first move. Played with two full decks (104 cards total), it removes pure guesswork and turns every hand into a transparent, highly strategic puzzle

Key Mechanics & Tableau Rules
- 104 Total Cards: Uses two standard decks—54 cards are dealt onto the table to start, and 50 cards remain in the stock pile.
- 54 Fully Visible Tableau Cards: Distributed across 10 columns (four columns of six cards and six columns of five cards). 100% of these cards are turned face-up, meaning you can see every single buried card on the board right away without any hidden cards blocking your vision.
- 50 Reserve Stock Cards: Kept in the top-right draw pile, dealing a fresh row of 10 face-up cards (one per column) whenever triggered.
- Numerical Sequence Building: Tableau stacks build strictly downward by numerical value. You can place any lower card onto a card one rank higher without restriction on suit or color.
- Same-Suit Group Movement: While you can stack different suits to manage space, you can only pick up and drag a group of cards if they belong to the exact same suit in descending order.
- Automatic Full-Suit Clears: Assembling a complete 13-card same-suit sequence (King down to Ace) automatically removes that set from the tableau to the top slots.
Essential Winning Strategies
- Scan Buried Cards First: Take advantage of total tableau visibility to locate critical Kings, Aces, and matching suits before making your first move.
- Treat Mixed Stacks as Temporary Storage: Stacking mixed suits helps store awkward cards, but it freezes the group from moving together. Unpick mixed stacks as early as possible.
- Protect Empty Columns: Keep at least one empty column open as long as possible; open spaces are your main tool for rearranging trapped mixed-suit chains.
- Clear Table Moves Before Stock Deals: Exhaust all possible tableau moves before clicking the stock pile, as dealing adds a full new layer of 10 cards over your active columns.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are all 104 cards visible at the start of Beetle Solitaire?
No. Only the 54 cards dealt across the 10 tableau columns are 100% face-up. The remaining 50 cards sit face-down in the reserve stock pile until you deal them out in batches of 10.
Why can I stack different suits on the board, but they won't move to the top slots?
The tableau permits mixed-suit stacking (any 8 on any 9) for temporary storage. However, cards will only clear to the top slots automatically when a complete 13-card sequence (King to Ace) is formed in one single suit.
Can I drag a sequence that contains mixed suits?
No. You can drop a single card onto a different suit, but dragging multi-card groups requires every card in that chain to share the exact same suit.
How do completed sequences move to the top foundation spaces?
You do not drag them manually. The game automatically collects and clears a completed same-suit sequence (K to A) the instant it is finished on the tableau.
What cards can fill an empty tableau space?
Any single card or valid same-suit sequence can occupy an empty column, giving you essential tactical maneuverability.
